Partner Terms

For astrologers who consult on Karmgyan and sellers who sell in the Karmgyan shop: what we keep, when you are paid, and what can be taken off a payout.

Last updated: September 27, 2026

These terms are for our partners: astrologers who give consultations on Karmgyan, and sellers whose products are sold in the Karmgyan shop. They sit alongside our Terms of Service, which apply to you as well. Customers' rights to refunds and returns are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy and Shipping & Returns; what you are paid follows those rules.

1. Commission

  • For every sale, Karmgyan keeps a commission: the percentage agreed with you when you joined, or a different one agreed for a particular product. You can see it in your partner dashboard.
  • The commission is worked out on the sale value before GST. The rest of the sale value is yours.
  • We will tell you at least 7 days before a change to your commission takes effect. A change never applies to sales made before it.

2. When a sale becomes payable

  • A consultation becomes payable once it has ended and been settled. If part of it went back to the customer as Karmgyan credits (for example, minutes lost to your connection dropping, or a session ended early), you are paid for the part that was held.
  • A session that did not happen (you declined, did not answer, or did not join) is not paid.
  • A shop item becomes payable once it has been delivered and its return window has closed, with no return request open for it. The return window is counted from the day of delivery: 7 days unless the product page says otherwise. It becomes payable from the day after the window closes.
  • A digital download becomes payable once it has been delivered.
  • A cancelled item, or one refunded in full, is never paid.

3. Payouts

  • Every 7 days we pay out everything that has become payable, by bank transfer to your bank account on file.
  • Each payout comes with a statement you can download from your partner dashboard. It lists every sale in the payout, our commission, any refund or credit, anything taken off, any tax deducted, the amount paid, and the bank's reference number for the transfer (UTR).
  • If something on a statement looks wrong, write to us and we will check it with you.

4. Refunds and credits after a sale

  • If a customer is refunded, or given Karmgyan credits, before the sale is paid out to you, you are paid your share of what is left.
  • If it happens after the sale was paid out, your share of the refund or credit is taken off your next payout and shown on its statement.
  • If what is to be taken off is more than your next payout, that payout is nil and the rest is taken off the payouts after it. A payout is never a negative amount.

5. Tax deducted from payouts

Where Indian law requires it, we deduct tax at source from your payouts under the Income-tax Act (TDS, section 194-O), and collect tax at source under GST (TCS, section 52) from sellers registered for GST. Tax is deducted only where the law requires it, and when it is, it is shown on your statement. We deposit it with the government in your name, so you can claim credit for it in your own returns.

  • Without a PAN on file, the law requires TDS at a higher rate.
  • Your own income tax and GST remain yours to file and pay.

6. Your details (KYC)

  • Your PAN.
  • A bank account in your own name (or your business's), which we verify before the first payout.
  • Your GSTIN, if you are registered for GST or the law requires you to be. Sellers of goods through an online marketplace usually must be; ask your tax adviser.
  • Please keep these up to date in your partner dashboard. We pay only to a verified account.

7. Invoices

  • Karmgyan issues the customer's tax invoice for every sale made on Karmgyan.
  • Where GST applies to our commission, we issue you a tax invoice for it with each payout, and the GST on it is taken off that payout and shown on your statement.
  • Sellers must give correct product details, including the HSN code and GST rate, so that customers' invoices are right.

8. Questions and complaints

For anything about commission, payouts or deductions, write to support@karmgyan.com with your partner number and the payout number. We aim to resolve it within 7 business days. If it is not resolved, you can go to our Grievance Officer.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For a material change we will tell you by email or in your partner dashboard at least 7 days before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
